Nouveau Riche Real Estate Investment College held its second Teen Financial Literacy class on Saturday, October 10, 2009. Co-taught by Nouveau Riche Instructors Craig Cottrell and Phillip Lechter, teens ages 13-17 had the opportunity to get a head start on learning key principles of financial management that can make a big difference for their futures. Through group exercises, discussions, and playing the reality game, called “Thrive Time”, teens gained a true understanding of how to manage the money they have, make smarter financial decisions, determine a need versus a want, and set goals for themselves.

After the highly successful launch of Nouveau Riche’s first-ever Teen Financial Literacy (TFL) Program for teens ages 13-17 at its July 2009 Real Estate Investment College, Nouveau Riche is pleased to announce the offer to participate in its second session to be held on October 10, 2009 in Glendale, AZ. The offer is open to teen-based charitable organizations that meet specified registration criteria. Through TFL, Nouveau Riche takes a huge step forward in bridging the often wide gap between what teens know about finances and what's actually taught in traditional school settings. The mission of the program is "to offer teenagers a collaborative learning environment with engaging, relevant instruction that provides meaning in academic experiences and builds skillsets for the future."

Nouveau Riche’s TFL class is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis for eligible participants. The registration deadline for the October session is Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 8:30pm. Nouveau Riche Real Estate Investment College held its first-ever Teen Financial Literacy class on Saturday, July 18, 2009. Co-taught by Nouveau Riche Instructors Craig Cottrell and Phillip Lechter, nearly 50 teens, ages 13-17, participated in this interactive, eye-opening class, where they learned key principles on managing money now and in the future. Through exploratory discussions, breakout application exercises, and reflective discussions on basics of budgeting and smart spending, financial management vehicles, credit, and more, students gained a fundamental understanding of financial literacy and how this knowledge can empower them. Students left the class raving, “I wish I’d learned this information sooner….I feel better prepared for my future now.”
